EAA Silicon Valley is a chapter of the Electric Auto Association, a nonprofit organization formed in 1967 to promote the use of electrical vehicles as a viable transportation alternative that is efficient, economical, and ecological. We meet  monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month, and host an annual EV Rally. Please see our Meetings page for monthly speakers, or join our Yahoo! Group for meeting announcements and other EV discussion. There are EAA chapters across the U.S., in Canada, and in Germany. Electric Vehicles are on the Roads Today

Many people are not aware that Electric Vehicles are real today! They are more than just a future promise from automakers. Some EVs are production vehicles used as daily commuter cars while others are one-of-a-kind custom projects.

Checkout these videos to see some actual EV cars and trucks owned by Silicon Valley EAA members. Some interesting facts in these videos. Were you aware that Vacaville, CA may be the most EV-friendly town in America as shown by this "Back To the Future" ABC news report? At the other end of the state, our San Diego EAA chapter is educating high school teachers how to convert a normal gas car into an EV...

Come to one of the monthly EAA meetings in Palo Alto or the other EAA chapters in the SF bay area to learn more about these awsome EVs and what you can do to get one for yourself!

Now that the "Stimulus Bill" has been passed by Congress and the Senate, the New York Times is suggesting that a good way to spend some of the money is by "Going Postal for Plug-ins".

Support EAA when buying stuff on Amazon.com

We've become an Amazon Associate and are trying out the program! If you visit Amazon via the links below and buy anything (almost anything at all!) during that visit, EAA, a nonprofit, will get a portion of the proceeds. Please make eaasv.org the starting point for your Amazon purchases to help the EAA!

Google.org RechargeIT Contest Video

Our Silicon Valley Chapter of the Electric Auto Association has sponsored an entry for the Google RechargeIT contest to create a video about Plug-In cars. Jerry Pohorsky and Enza Sebastiani did a video shoot based on Jerry's daily commute in his RAV 4 EV. They pass a couple of large solar installations along the way and those made it into the video as well. Check out the 90sec video.

Check out the Plug In America effort to work with industry, environmental and national security organizations, and concerned citizens to revive plug-in auto production and give Americans the freedom to choose cars, trucks, and SUVs that are powered by cleaner, cheaper, domestic sources of energy.
